From the reviews
My 10 year old daughter has been a member of Brown's for about 1 year. We started there to help her with confidence and self esteem. I can't say enough how great it has been to be a part of this school. It has changed her tremendously.
I have been taking classes at Master Brown's for about a year. Master Brown's is a great teacher who helped me grow as a student. He exhibits a great amount of professionalism, so does the rest of the instructors. They make the student pay attention to details and are very willing to help in any way possible.
My step daughters take classes here. Not only do they love it here, but they've learned so much! The staff is excellent and supportive, and the learning environment is excellent. They make you feel like family, and teach you tae kwon do in the traditional way.
My 11yr old daughter has been going to Brown’s 3 times a week for a few months now. She absolutely loves it and I can see her confidence improving each week
Your first taekwondo class at Brown's Traditional Taekwondo
Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
