From the reviews
very happy with everything Adrian & Izel have learned since the first day they started. It has been about discipline, learning and responsibility even for us as parents to have the dedication to bring them because every day they learn something new and everything is excellent. I recommend it one hundred percent.
My 5 year old son started in American TKD Academy about 5 month ago and has loved it. I noticed that just after 2 weeks my son was more focused, confident and respectful. After attending class for 3 month his twin sister wanted to join and I also signed her up.
Both my kids are student here for couple years now, and we can’t speak enough about how the academy has been a gift to us. They were able to continue to take their class virtually throughout the pandemic, they started from no Martial Arts skill and knowledge to confident, eager to learn and improve their skills and…
We started my 5 year old son a few months ago with the level 1 group with Mr. Sullivan. He has so much patience with the students and my son is loving it! He is so excited to "level up" to yellow belt! This place has given him a great experience so far and he has been doing a lot better at home as well.
Your first taekwondo class at Challenge Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
