From the reviews

I was a previous taekwondo student before I moved to San Diego and tried out several other schools before coming to this school. I absolutely love this school. Master instructor John is an amazing teacher, extremely helpful, patient and understanding and Grand master Kim is just as amazing except he's a little more…

This is a fantastic dojang, and I’m happy to recommend this to everyone. Master Kim is great, the other students are very friendly, and the workout is always top notch. I’ve been coming here almost three years and always look forward to my next class! Sign up, you will not regret it.

Your first taekwondo class at Kyung Hee Taekwondo Academy

Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Taekwondo is a martial art and a contact sport. Ease in, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
