From the reviews

My son started here last year and was immediately drawn in and fell in love with taekwondo. Master Vicente shows a great balance of discipline and humor. The students get a serious workout and learn skills that go beyond just taekwondo - they teach life lessons about honor and respect which are just as valuable.

Taekwondo has been perfect for my daughter. Her confidence, body awareness, and focus have all grown and she is a force to be reckoned with! She loves knowing she is strong, determined, and powerful. Class time is structured and her teacher pushes her to do her best (without any negative pressure).

We have been coming to One Taekwonodo for just about a year. It has been the greatest experience for my child, Master Vincent is a fantastic teacher. My child’s confidence is up, coordination is up and stamina is up- and they LOVE class. We recommend it to anyone looking for a Taekwondo studio.

Your first taekwondo class at One Taekwondo Academy

Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Taekwondo is a martial art and a contact sport. Ease in, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
