From the reviews
I was a student for almost 6 years and enjoyed every moment of training. I made many friendships and learned so much, not just about the art of taekwondo, but about myself and others. Every experience was worth while. I can personally say, out of all the sports I have tried, this has been my favorite.
We've had a wonderful experience at Stillwater. Both of our daughters take taekwondo and enjoy it very much. The owner and instructors are well trained and offer a very positive and safe environment for our children where respect and discipline are mutual among the students and teachers.
Our middle child has been training at Stillwater for about eight months and he loves it (our oldest has just started training as well). The instructors/owners/staff are top notch and have become like a second family. I highly recommend Stillwater if you’re looking for a great experience.
Our oldest son has been coming here for 18 months and loves coming. All of the instructors are great and are like a second family. He has more self confidence and has learned a lot about respect. We have had such a great experience that our 4 year old has started in the last month.
Your first taekwondo class at Stillwater Taekwondo Club
Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
