Olympic Taekwondo Sparring
Olympic sparring is the World Taekwondo (WT) style of the sport you see at the Games — fought in a chest protector and headgear on electronic scoring gear, with fast, high kicks scored by contact. It's a genuinely unique hook: taekwondo is one of the few martial arts that is a full Olympic sport, and schools with an Olympic-style program train the specific footwork, distance and kicking that scoring rewards. It's athletic and competition-minded, but it starts, like everything else, with the basics and controlled drilling. It suits students drawn to the Olympic side and the thrill of competition.
