Master Yang and Master Seo were my 12-year-old son’s teachers in Wauconda, IL. Coincidentally, they were also my students at the community college, where they were strengthening their English. We were so sad to lose them to the Houston area, but our loss is your gain. Both are so nice and great teachers!
Let me start off with saying that we have been in Kingwood for 8 years and have been looking at the TaeKwondo scene for a bit. My husband use to do martial arts and is very particular and because of that we hadn't found a school he liked for our kids. Then we met Master Yang at a festival and tried a class.
Ace Taekwondo and Master Yang are outstanding! This is a fantastic place where excitement, learning, fun, and discipline come together perfectly. Master Yang is an exceptional instructor who truly cares about each student’s growth, both in Taekwondo and in character.
Master Yang and Master Seo are wonderful, kind, and inspiring people! They are super patient and understanding when teaching students and their teaching style is amazing. They used to teach in a Taekwondo school in Illinois and they were so kind during their time there.

Your first taekwondo class at ACE Taekwondo - Kingwood

What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
