My kid has been taking Taekwondo classes at Evolution for many months now and it is always a wonderful experience. Every kid I see there, including my own, seems to really love the staff and teachers. They really seem to foster a sense of community and family.
My children attend summer camp and they love Evolution Martial Arts! They are super excited about their up-coming field trips. They have fun, and get to see their friends. My son totally enjoy's the Taekwondo classes. Three years ago they also attended the after school program as well.
My child has attended Evolution for two years and absolutely loves it! The instructors are fantastic and really care about the kids. They encourage the kids to do their very best. The kids are also great! They motivate each other and they have become like family to us. Summer Camp is so much fun.
Excellent after-school and summer programs! All the instructors are amazing and friendly! I never have to worry about my son because I know he is in good hands. My son has learned so much in 2 years. The instructors are firm on discipline and education.
Your first taekwondo class at Evolution Martial Arts of Lakeland Inc
Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
