When I first moved to Colorado, people said to not tell anyone else because they will also love it and never want to leave. Castle Rock Martial Arts is exactly that, but the amazing, humble and masterful instructors warmly welcome and embrace their growing family! My wife, son and I have attended for nearly 2 years.
My son was a member of CRMA for several years and he gained a lot of confidence! He absolutely loved going here and unfortunately due to other obligations has not been able to continue now that he is in middle school. He will absolutely return here if he able to in the future.
After training off and on for over 20 years, I'm super picky about where I train. I've trained in many schools and settled on one before I moved to Colorado where I was then left with wondering if I would ever find a school that comes close to where I trained before. Castle Rock Martial Arts does NOT disappoint!
My son (7) has been attending here for a few months now and LOVES it. The games they play are fantastic and build confidence. The instructors are wonderful and engaging.
Your first taekwondo class at Excel Taekwondo | Castle Rock
Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
