From the reviews
Great place to learn self-defense, courtesy, integrity and courage. Master J. Holloway is a great instructor along with other teachers. I used to go there and I’ve learned a lot. Definitely recommend this place to learn Taekwondo. Can’t beat the price for lessons, though you have to pay money for a uniform and belt.
I grew up attending this studio and loved it. Great instructors and people. I was there from when I was 5-13years old. Saw the one star review and could not let that be the only opinion voiced. If I still lived on the east coast my two kids would absolutely go here
I am currently a student here and have been for the past year and I have learned a lot, from forms to self discipline and self defense. Not only am I a student here so is my daughter who started before me, at age 3 and is currently 6yrs old. She is a few belts ahead of me.
I used to be a Student here! The training is wonderful and so was Master Holloway! Wish I can come back here again! I used to be a red belt but sadly lost my progress after I stopped going. I do wish to come back again and regain my progress I made here! - Aleyda
Your first taekwondo class at Gentle East Taekwondo
Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
