From the reviews

I live in the neighborhood so I would often drive by and look through the window at the classes going on. After while, I decided to call and then I was invited for a tour by Mark.

Master Mark and his family welcomed my 2 sons immediately and made them feel included. He’s strict, but also jokes around with the kids at times. Boys have learned so much already and is always excited to go to Taekwondo class.

Great atmosphere along with clear and thorough instruction. Mark and his team(family) creates a great challenging and encouraging environment. They understood my physical challenges/limitations and worked on modifications that still equaled success and belt promotion.

I first attended Salisipan martial arts from February of 2021 to September of 2021. I was 16 years old when I started and was looking for a place to get a introduction to marital arts. I found Salisipan martial arts on google maps. The coaches were top notch, and the practice schedule was very easy to work with.

Your first taekwondo class at Salisipan Martial Arts Academy

Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Taekwondo is a martial art and a contact sport. Ease in, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
