My daughter has been going here for 9 years. It has been a pleasure seeing her grow up and gain not only physical skills but also life skills. Ultimate Martial Arts has been a wonderful experience and I am thankful that it is a part of our lives.

My daughter has been training here for three years now. I've decided to start martial arts for her to build up her confidence and of course to learn some self defense techniques. I am beyond happy, not only she is 100% more confident but she is also learning how to protect herself.

We’ve been attending classes at Ultimate Martial Arts since 2017. Both of my children have benefited greatly from the amazing curriculum and teachers, and they’re now first degree black belts. The level of confidence, discipline, and strength they’ve developed over the years is amazing.

Your first taekwondo class at Ultimate Martial Arts

Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Taekwondo is a martial art and a contact sport. Ease in, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
