Our kids love USAOTAEKWANDO and so do we! We had never done any martial arts before so this so we didn’t know what to expect but the experience has been great and we now have two kids in the program! Our favorite part is being able to remind our kids that Master Gibson is going to ask about their behavior at home! Lol!
Great team of Taekwondo masters. We appreciate the dedication for teaching each child. No one is left behind. Very professional and knowledgeable. My kids love the US academy of Taekwondo!
As a mom, I cannot say enough good things about U.S. Taekwondo. The instructors are incredibly kind, patient, and supportive, and they truly see and care about the kids as individuals. My son feels safe, encouraged, and confident there, and he looks forward to every class.
Let me start by saying my son discovered the group through his school (SES). I was worried about how he would do since he has ADHD and the afternoon his medication is gone. He ended up falling in love with the program so his grandfather got him the membership for his birthday in July.
Your first taekwondo class at US Academy of Taekwondo
Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
