From the reviews
We enrolled over a year ago when I felt the need for discipline for my 3 young boys who were 6 and 4 years old at the time. My boys were initially disruptive in class when we started which forced us to enroll them in a private class.
PMA is fantastic! We started with our 3.5 year old (at the time) and its been a year now and she LOVES it! Looks forward to it every week and her progress in only a year is incredible. We've also enjoyed PMA's summer/winter camp sessions and those are amazing as well.
Master Kim and Master Noh are incredible individuals. They genuinely care about the overall well being of their students and treat them as if they are their own family. They teach the true principles of Korean Taekwondo. We are so happy with the results in our son over the past year.
My husband, daughter and I have been taking Taekwondo lessons from Master Kim for several years. We absolutely love the encouraging and uplifting atmosphere. Master Kim and his wife, Master Noh are excellent role models for kids and teens. We are so happy we found this studio not only for us but also for our daughter!
Your first taekwondo class at Master Kim's PMA Taekwondo (Creekside, Woodlands & Tomball)
Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
