I took 4 years of martial arts when I was a teenager and my son (age 14 and now with 7 years experience) is a black belt in karate. When we started looking in this area for what will become his new dojo, we were open to starting over in a new style, so we read all the reviews and websites for all the local instructors…
The place is very organized. And the staff is very welcoming. The instructors are very patient. My kid loves going to his lessons here. They even offer online courses during COVID shutdown. What a relief to parents who needed to find things for kids to do at home.
We love SK Tae Kwon Do!!! My son has had a wonderful experience learning everything it takes to achieve each belt. The Masters are amazing! I highly recommend them to anyone who is interested!
We love SK Taekwondo. Master J. Lee is one of the BEST Masters there. He is always passionate and genuinely enjoys teaching and engaging with students. My daughter had been there for over 2 years and she had learned so much from him. The instructors there are also great too, always ready to help guide the students.
Your first taekwondo class at SK TAEKWONDO
Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
