From the reviews
“Positive Life Changes!” - the 3 words that describe my personal experience, the new Life Skills I am learning, and the training and interaction with Grand Master Kwon, Mrs. Kwon, and the Instructors and Staff at the Riverton school. This school is the Best!
I have a tremendous level of respect for the studio and legacy that Master Kwon, his family, and the other instructors at World Martial Arts have built. I think it’s hard to overstate the positive impact that this studio has had on the local community and to kids across the valley.
They have not just been a martial arts studio. They have been inspiring, empowering, and utterly amazing for my child. He has only been there for three weeks and has more discipline, self respect and respect for others. The other children are also respectful and everyone is the best influence for my son.
Master Kwon is a great leader and has put together a strong program. I have a teenage son. For the past few years, he has been attending tae kwon do a few times each week, which has helped teach him responsibility. He's now a black belt and he feels proud that he finished something he started.
Your first taekwondo class at World Martial Arts - Holladay
Nervous about walking into a taekwondo school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, and kicks with a partner or on pads — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: loose athletic wear you can move in (or a dobok if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the floor. What to bring: water and a positive attitude — many schools lend a loaner dobok for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll get your own dobok and belt, and sparring gear (mouthguard, headgear, and guards) once you begin sparring. Sparring eases in gradually, once your fundamentals and forms are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
